Recent satellite images reveal the disintegration of an ice shelf in Antarctica the size of Rhode Island. The speed of the breakup stunned scientists who once again point to global warming as the culprit. At about the same time as this startling development, the brave members of the US Senate rejected a measure to improve fuel efficiency in cars and trucks. Instead, the far-seeing legislators voted to establish a committee to further study the issue. While Rome gradually melts, the politicians simply ignore all evidence linking fossil fuel emissions to global warming.
